Branch Activities and Services

  • Monthly evening meetings at which members can meet together in a friendly atmosphere to exchange views and hear a talk from a speaker on a Parkinson’s issue or a general topic of interest.
  • Carers Club for carers to get together to share their experiences of caring for a loved one. Monthly meetings including social events
  • The services of a team of Parkinson’s Local Advisors who can provide members with a range of advice including advising on how to claim for benefits and obtain assistance from social services.
  • Access to Parkinson’s Nurse Specialists,  who are able to provide advice on medication and related matters. New members are encouraged to arrange a meeting at an early stage.
  • Weekly hydrotherapy sessions, especially designed for people with Parkinson’s, are currently available for a small charge of £7 per session.
  • Weekly exercise sessions, especially designed for people with Parkinson’s, are currently available for a small charge of £5 per session.
  • Fortnightly Parkinson’s Singing Cafe at Lynwood Village
  • Weekly Nordic Walking sessions for exercise and companionship
  • Access to subsidised chiropody services
  • A Counseling Service for those in need to talk through issues at difficult times
  • Regular newsletters advising members of local sources of help as well as information and initiatives arising from the national level of Parkinson’s UK.
  • Monthly Parkinson’s Cafe in Camberley
  • Regular social lunches in a local pub, ten pin bowling and other social activities.
